Diversity Practicum and Paraprofessional Experiences Spring 2016: Bismarck State College Within my course load in the Spring semester, I completed 3 credit hours in a course devoted solely to the exploration of cultural diversity. Students of the class itself offered many unique perspectives on relevant cultural concepts and current events.
Spring 2018: Pioneer Elementary, Bismarck During my time here, I supported students within a wide range of ages, backgrounds, nationalities, ethnicities, socioeconomic statuses, and levels of learning. Here, I adapted to the unique needs and personalities of each student with which I worked. As a paraprofessional in both environments, I supported my supervising special and general education teachers, as well as collaborated and communicated with fellow instructional aides.
Fall 2016, Spring 2017, Summer 2017: Solheim Elementary, Bismarck While at Solheim, I instructed mainly students who qualified for Special Education services and were categorized as having Emotional and Behavioral Disorders. However, I also was among and working with other students throughout the school who were diverse in grade, academic paths, and backgrounds. While at Solheim, I supported students with diverse academic and emotional needs.
Special Olympic Volleyball Spring 2017: Bismarck During this season, I volunteered to help coach multiple Special Olympic Volleyball practices located at Horizon Middle School alongside other coaches and athletes. During this time, I assisted several athletes during volleyball practices by teaching volleyball and team dynamics.
